wow, that’s what I can say about this article! and many of the comments as well.
I am an Israeli- of Ashkenazi origin. But my mother’s side of the family is more dark skinned (My brother looks like my mom- darker with slanted eyes, I look like my dad- red head with green eyes and freckles)

I always was discouraged by the racist approach of my ethnic group in the Jewish nation- or in fact any ethnic part in my nation…..
It will be amazing to be able to contribute to a group like this one- I currently reside in NYC, please add me to any e-mails , events or volunteer opportunities you might have.

I did send you a synopsis of my literary
works (excerpts of a book currently in making) concerning
Jews of Color dealing with the historical references about
them, From Babylon To Timbuktu, From Pompey to Julius,from
the dispersion from Vespasian to the massive migration to
the African continent, and from there to the Americas.
Along with the synopsis of the literary works, I have also
sent graphic illustrations, however I did not get any response. As I have stated in my previous message above, it

The Ayesha Resource Organization is dedicated to educating
Rabbis, Jewish Educators, and others about the racial diver-
sity within Judaism….and is a advocate of Jewish multi-
culturalism. My work covers a certain spectrum on the historical “Antiquicy” of Jews of Color…beginning with
72 Syrians who went down into Egypt…From Babylon to Tim-
buktu, thereby making a certain leverage to the uneducated
on such subject, why Jews of Color should not be uncommon
to the world had they had the proper education…whereby at
the same time creates an atomsphere of ease for Jews of
Color who have been feeling relatively uncomfortably.

In response to Sheree R. Curry’s comment, Who is a jew, I remember when I was very young, a teenager in high school,
this was my first exposure to Judaism. There was a black
Jewish meeting place in the Bronx,N.Y. I went downtown in
Manhattan to some big jewish Organization, and told them
that I wanted to be a part of it.

The lady that I spoke with was very nice to me, she told me
that we helped some people build up one in the Bronx. I
really wanted to delve more in the Manhattan organization,
the building was more splendid and so forth. I thought that
the expansion for the knowledge that I sought could be
broadened in this one in Manhatatan.

Suddenly I realized that there was a seperation, it seemed
like the “Equal But Seperate” clause to me. But the lady did
not make me feel like an outcast or unwanted amongst Judaism.

Yet there was another time when I was much younger. As I
climbed the stairs and purchased a token to get on the train
I saw a Ad. with a nice looking little black boy clad in a
white shirt and black tie. The AD said, “You don’t have to
be Jewish to eat Levy’s Bread.

But for some reason even as a little boy, I questioned that
statement, as if I was supposed to say to myself, wait a
minute! who told that person that I could’nt be jewish ?

Years later as I began to study my history, I found out that
my thoughts as a child unbeknown, had credence. How irony.

Concerning the attitude of recognition of the Jew of color,
I would like to contribute the following :

Excerpts from the Zohar, The Hebrew Book of Splendor.

The Creation of Elohim : In the Beginning

When the King concieved ordaining
He engraved engravings in the luster on high
A blinding spark flashed
within the Concealed of the Concealed
from the mystery of the Infinite
a cluster of vapor in the formlessness
set in a ring
not white, not black, not red, not green
no color at all
When a band spanned, it yeilded radiant colors
Deep within the spark gushed a flow
inbuing colors below,
concealed within the concealed of the mystery of
the Infinite
The flow broke through and did not break through
its aura.
It was not known at all
until under the impact of breaking through,
one high and hidden point shone.
Beyond that point, nothing is known
So it is called Beginning,
the first command of all.

As we can see concerning Yahwey is not a Yahwey of colors
( The Infinite One ), not white,not black, not red, not green, no color at all, and this is the first command.

What color is a principle ?

As we have heard the expression: Bereshit Bara Elohim Et Ha
Shamayeem Ve Ha Aretiz.

In principle elohim created the Heavens, The Pillarstones
upon which it stands, from the Azilutic World, motioning
itself to the Beriah World, to the Yezeriah World, to the
Asiyah World, from the invisible to the visible.

The main point is the composition. For example you can have
a red motor car, a brown motor car, a green motor car, the
main purpose is the function that it serves.

Now I have been a fanitic over Black Hebrew History and
study, and I do see indications in my studies of the early
Hebrews being black, but that does not means one thing to me
because knowing Yahwey, and really knowing Yahwey, he who
says that he do, his mentality cannot be restricted to the
mentality of the tangible World ( Asiyah }.

And as I have learned of the term “Tachutonim” he who is
from above, or Spirit from up above, comes down to earth
wherein he gathers a Garment of Flesh.

The Flesh is commanded remotely by the Spirit within the
flesh, remotely as a automobile is being run.

However on the other hand this is really silly, because it
causes me to think about, The Planet Of The Apes, everyone
claiming to be the first or the original in retrospect in
giving recognition to the other.

On the other hand when we look at the infinicy of history,
take for example 4,000 B.C. wherein many scholors can identify a black civilization in Mesopotamia, Chaldea and
so forth. However if we look at it at the other hand, let us
say 8,000 B.C., because Yahwey is infinite, or 16,000 B.C.
or 24,000 B.C., we very well may could have found another
civilization other than a black one in that region going on
the cycle of time.

Could it not have been that the baton of civilization could
have been passed on from one civilization of color to the
other as time evolute ?

However the Roman Historian Tacitus, who lived about 90 A.D.
wrote in his journals, that many of his time asserts that the Jews are of an Ethiopian race and origin. This seems to
be a clear indication of what the Jew of that day or his
time had looked like. European don’t feel inferior, not in
God’s kingdom or in Man’s kingdom.

The wife of Napoleon’s Ambassador to Portugal while in that
country also said that the Moors and the Judeans looks alike. There are many things for the State of Israel to work
out, and I am quite confident in them.

Now some may say that the European ( Ashkenazi
is very racist, but I know that the European is very cunn-
ing and shrewed and I think that he will work it out, they
seem to have a mathematical irony behind them, and this is
nature unfold.

Now I have seen some Ashkenazi, that when you say hello to
them, they do not answer, well we live in a very cold world
today and they may feel justified because they don’t know
who to trust. I mean these times my feelings were really hurt, and even in the early times of Braham there was talk-
ing about the Brotherhood of man.

I really don’t know, but I believe that I should do the right, even if my brother does not do the right, until he
come around and acknowledge the love that i have in my heart for him. So now I pray for the love to spread about
in rulership amongst my brothers of different colors.

I have just scrolled up to Brother Lloyd’s article, posted
April 3,2009. I would like to ask in general what does the
word Semetic or Semeticism means? It is my understanding
that its prefix (Semi)is the Latin word that means half.
Half of What ? From this as some scholors have indicated,
that 4,000 B.C. the Mesopatamian area was a black civil-
ization at which time there began caucasian invasions from
the north, we bear certain truths to be self-evident.
What do we think is the result of this ? We know that in
these situation there is massive inter-mixing. Whether
through rape or freewill consent, we know that in these
situations there begins racial and cultural sexual inter-
course. Now we can see the word “Semi” in a certain sense.
Half of this, and half of that in terms of race, culture,
and religious beginnings. The next factor that we have to
consider is legitimacy. We know that this Hebraic religion
and way of life would not be easily tolorated or assimula-
ted into a Eupopean society or tribal clan at once. We could
even go as far to say that it has been asserted that Judaism
was not an official institutionalized religion in Europe until the 17th Century. One thing we do know for sure is
that Christianity was not practiced in its early beginning
openly. What do we think would happen if Judaism was attempted to be practiced in Europe in those days ? I am not
stating that judaism was attempted to be practiced in
Europe in those days, but what I am tring to establish is the beginning of the ligitimacy of peoples of Europe in
conformity with the laws of Israel. This is what is tech-
nically termed, “Jewish by Nationality”, however the Elders
in those days had a certain pre-requisite to go with this,
which was to observe the laws of Israel,and to practice the
tennets of its religious ways. Also in the laws of Israel,
it is written, he that is a stranger among you, after living
for five years, he is entitled to be joined in the house of
Israel. If a black man marries a white woman and has a child
by that woman, that child bears his last name, or visa versa
in colors. And if the father’s name is Israel them that child no matter what his color is, bears the name of the father. Yes we do know that a lot of Europeans of the cauca-
soid color did convert to Judaism. Now look even in Islam my
brother, it says, “Come to worship, Come to worship Allah.
It did not say what color of skin you had to have to worship
Allah. The same for Judahism or just about any other religion. All I am trying to do is to establish a point of
early beginnings and ligitimacy that can be pinpointed bet-
ween Europeans and Israel. I would not go as far as to say
that Europe had expounded on the practice of that religion
in those days, but to prove that a definate link was established. I know that sometimes some conceited Europeans
may like to make a Jew of color feel indifferent, but the
situations that we go through in life defines who we are,
especially in maturity, wisdom,knowledge and awareness and
love. And as it is written, unless your righteousness/
maturity exceeds that of the other, then you are no better
than he. There are so many things for the world to consider,
and when the world consider these things, then it will be
the coming of a new age. Peace be for you my brother, and I
hope that you get many European friends, and that they squeeze you tight. Remember it is also written he that sinneth against me sinneth against his own soul. Consider
that person your little brother who is out of the way,take
him by the hand and teach him. If we fail to teach those
who do not see, then where is the infinacy of our wisdom ?
If our God is the All Wise, then is he not capable of
making the unbeknown be known ? Or is it that we have failed
in his name ? Well peace for you my brother a perfect peace
for you and may the Almighty give you the perception to win
friends in a multitude. May all mankind be your friends and
may all races and colors and peoples cling unto thee !
I would really like to write more, a lot,lot, more. Well

I enjoy your views on Jews of Color, this is my life. I think that the problem is ignorancy and illeteracy on the study of the vast dispersion of the Children of Israel, the
vast amount of geographical places that they have migrated
to between the time of the conflicts of the nothern and southern kingdoms, the peoples that they have come across and have embraced of different countries, and shades of colors of skin, the interwieving and diverse assimulation in these far off. These are things that I currently write about and although I classify myself a Jew of color I am not
indifferent to a jew whose tone is not the same of mine. I embrace him, because I know that he is my brother,friend
and kin. I do not assume that the Ashkenazi is my brother, I
know that for a fact that he is my brother, my friend and my kin. And this is no assumption, I know that this is a fact, and when all Jews (or descentants) knows these things as a fact through proper education, then we will hava a more
peaceful and stronger house of Israel. Look at the promise that was made to Abraham, it has expanded so far, as the sand upon the sea shores that it has confounded many. I see
the some Black Jews, says, that I am the true jew, and some
White Jews,says, that I am the only Jew, and there is no other. I once too our of ignorancy had thought these things too, but I asked the Almighty to be the apple of my eyes, and the Almighty showed me how these things came to be. So now that I know that Jewery is not merely black and white, but there are also many shades that are in-between. Now how
wonderfully is the promise of Abraham being fullfilled. How
happy is it for Israel to say that we have brothers/sisters
of so many different colors. I love my Ashkenazi brother even if he dosen’t know who I am, but I hope that one day that he will know who I am through the proper study and education, something I am looking forward to see the state of Israel do. There is so much I do for the promotion of this, and if you know any other in Israel that do the same
