Getting Acquainted
Hello, I am Sheree, the creator of this site and a Jew by Choice. I became interested in Judaism while a senior in high school, after taking a religion course with a segment on comparative religions. I began studying to become a Jew during my freshman year of college and I officially became a conservative Jew during my sophomore year. I have now been Jewish for more years than I have not. Although I converted, not every Jew of color is a convert. Some were born to one or two parents who were Jewish, whether by birth or conversion. Please tell us your story.

Hi I am black and I was born a Jew. I belong to a mostly black jewish temple and we are not converts we are Israelite reclaiming our heritage. just a little thougt to read
Read Deuteronomy the 28 chpt it start with the blessing and the curses that Hashem would place on us if we did not go in all of his ways. In the curses GOD tell us that if we did not obey his laws what he would do to us. Deueronomy 28th chapter the 68 verse says “And the Lord shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee. Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondnen (slaves) and bondwoman, and no man shall buy you.” This is us, this is what happen to us when we came to america. When GOD says I will bring you into Egypt this is a metaphore for(slavery) with tall Ship he is talking about slaves comming to America in the slave trade. The first ships to come to America landed in Jamestown Va and the slaves worte on the wall in Hebrew and Arameic (the trade language for the Hebrews) We are Isreal it is in our blood, that has been tainted by the slave master that rapped our women but we are his Chosen people that chose him not so in his love he punished us buy sending us in to bondage but he did not destroy us. If you go to Deuteronomy the 4th chapter start at the 26 verse and read the remains of the Chapter. GOD says that he will kick us of the promise land and scatter us among the nations and that we would serve gods of wood and stones(Jesus)gods that our forefather never new. But this is the part to get happy about. The 29th verse of the 4 chapter GOD says “BUT if from ther thou shalt seek the LORD Thy GOD thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy Heart and with all thou soul.”
Hi,
I have a daughter in 8th grade. She is looking for more information on the Jewish faith as I believe she is looking to convert.
Can you share any resources for her or provide any contacts for her?
